I went there and majored in Industrial Design and Sound Design.
However, I got hired by deviantART before I graduated, but that doesn't really matter to me. I gained a TON of experience there, and nobody can take that away from me. If I were to go back, I'd have another year to go, but I'm looking at taking classes out here in LA.
Well, if you haven't been accepted yet, then I wish you the best of luck! The school is good, but honestly... the area isn't so awesome. There's a good bit of homeless and section 8 housing in the city, but as long at you're conscious of your surroundings and don't walk alone ANYWHERE late at night (especially if you're female), then you should be ok.
The city is about 30 minutes away on an easy-to-drive highway from Tybee beach. It's a good place to go on the weekends and just chill... play in the water, if you're into that kind of thing.
In the summer though, watch for jellyfish. They're not super common, but they do hang out in the waters off of the coast of Ga sometimes.
That's it! Good luck!
P.S. (Forgot about this) SCAD is really expensive (which I'm sure you know). If you aren't on a scholarship, or getting grants, you'll have to get loans. It's not a super complicated process, but if you're really tight on cash and DO need loans, then I suggest building in some money to pay for your housing as well if you aren't living on campus. SCAD and most loan companies allow you to add on extra money to your loan for personal purposes.
ie. I needed about $7,500/quarter just for classes. I asked for $13,006 so that I could have around 5,500 in refunds. This way I could pay rent, bills, get supplies, and pay for gas and food without needing a job.
P.S.S. It's REALLY hard to keep a job when taking classes at this school.
Just letting you know.

I've seen some of the run-down areas of Savannah and don't really plan on visiting them at night. But I DO hope to volunteer with some homeless shelters down there if I have the time for it.
Been to the beach a few times, and yeah, I do plan on playing in the water.
I plan on majoring in... well, I don't know quite yet, but I have 2 years to think about it. But I'm pretty sure it's going to be whichever major is as far away from computers as possible.
Thanks for the input, I enjoy hearing from students who go there.
